On February 14th, Alliance members hosted a farewell luncheon for the former Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Housing and Physical Planning, Hon. Jacob Kaimenyi at the Haandi Restaurant. The team thanked Hon. Kaimenyi for his support that saw over 1,300 schools titles issued, government mechanisms to accelerate the titling of public schools mainstreamed and a government waiver on land registration fees issued.
We appreciate the challenges that remain especially in the titling of schools at risk and supporting schools with cases in court and shall continue to work with the government agencies to achieve the universal titling of public schools.
Present at the lunch were representatives from Future First, Amnesty International, Transparency International – Kenya, Pawa 254, National Lands Commission and the Shule Yangu Secretariat. We wish Hon. Kaimenyi the very best as he takes on the new role as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO in Paris.
